Welcome!

Thank you for visiting us to support the Life Mission Fashion Show and Concert.

In case you are wondering what we actually are, I just wanted to tell you a little about the event:

What we are: A concert and fashion show to raise funds and awareness about forms of modern day slavery through ticket sales, donations, media attention, and selling items made by the very people the show supports. One individual from each Pepperdine campus organization will be highlighted as a model in the fashion show. Come support your friends!

Who is involved: YOU, Pepperdine Students, Southern Californian Guests, Donors, Survivors of the warfare in the Sudan and Thai sex trafficking, Celebrities, Musicians, Fair-Trade Clothing Designers, and Other University Guests.

Where: At Pepperdine University's 30 acres of rolling green hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean, known as "Alumni Park".

When: Sunday, November 2, 2008, from 2pm to 7pm.

Why:
-Over 25,000 Sudanese children (ages 3 and up) have been kidnapped and forced to kill their families and one another in a war they don't understand and for which they aren't responsible.
-In 2005, 9.5 million people were trafficked in Asia alone. the majority of these victims are children, kidnapped and forced into the sex trade. .
-We're a part of a global community and we believe God has instructed us "as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me."

We thank you for your heartfelt consideration and support of this show and most importantly, these children.
Love and Blessings,
Sara Ward
Executive Chair of Life Mission Concert and Fashion Show

The Heart of our Show

  • We have been tremendously blessed.
  • We refuse to be just another part of a generation that, pundits claim, is strictly driven by materialism and greed.
  • We know our world is interconnected and that every action has a reaction.
  • Our hearts break at the suffering we see.
  • We can’t bear to continue to sit still, shut up, say only the “right” things and watch as people suffer and die all around us.
  • We want to make a difference in our sisters and brothers lives around the world.
  • We yearn to believe and see that we can influence change.
  • We desire to be apart of doing something bigger than ourselves, to give to something larger than us-that will impact generations.
  • We understand that talent coupled with positive name recognition draws media, press bring funds and finances open doors to help countless people.
  • We hunger to highlight those who truly care about children…children who have been beaten, maimed, kidnapped, who have nothing and yet continue to fight.
  • We are fighters too…We identify with these children.
  • We’re desperate to take advantage of the opportunities that have been set before us to prove that the next generation of America’s youth cares deeply, that what affects children in Africa and Thailand affects us from Malibu to Tennessee to New York, that one group of determined people with a plan and compassionate hearts really can shake the atmosphere for the positive.
  • We NEED your help.
